This is a unique leadership opportunity for a seasoned Veterinary professional, requiring delivery of a high standard of Veterinary medicine as well as leadership in medical operations and shelter management.
As part of the Department's executive team, this position is distinguished by its responsibility for managing overall operations of animal-related units within the Animal Services Department. These units include the Spay/Neuter and Vaccine Clinic, In-House Medical Care, Animal Husbandry, Transfer Coordination, Foster Care and the Animal Behavior unit. This position is responsible for setting standards of care and protocols, animal flow, recruiting and training contract and County medical, shelter and behavior staff, while providing high level customer service to animal care partners and members of the public.
